Poetic Legacy II
6:00pm
Coordinated by published poets Pat Andrus and Christopher R, each workshop focuses on one poet, including the reading of several poems by participants (remember that poetry was originally meant to be heard). After this round robin of reading and listening to various poems of the selected poet, everyone has 15-20 minutes to quietly write their own pieces of writing, inspired by a title, line, or just from soaking in the words heard and read. Finally, anyone who wishes to share any or all his or her writing, is encouraged to do so.

Whole Body Donation: Is It For Me?
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
What is the difference between whole body donation and organ and tissue donation? If I have a little dot on my driver’s license saying I am a donor, does this mean my body will go to UCSD? Do I qualify for body donation? What are the donations used for? These questions and any others you may have will be answered by Dr. Erin Wilcox, who will be visiting from UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Our World Through the Lens: A History of Travel Photography
11:30 am – 12:30 pm
Since the dawn of photography, images have been used as a way for many to see and experience far-off lands from the comfort of home, or as a record of having visited a particular place. Join us on an expedition around the world as we explore photographs from some of the earliest travel photographers to modern images of our world today. Attendees will also be treated to a demonstration of vintage camera equipment from the 1800’s that was once used to take photographs on expeditions!
