Participate in the Library Master Plan Process
The Library is partnering with the Library Foundation to update the Library Master Plan. The current plan has not been updated since 2002 and is now based on outdated data and assumptions. With support from City Council offices, the Library and Library Foundation are working with nationally recognized library consultant, Group 4 Architecture, Research, and Planning, to develop a long-range vision, framework, and strategy for Library facilities, technology, and program investments that accurately reflect community needs. To ensure input from all communities, we need broad participation in the Community Survey. Beginning February 17, you can complete the survey on the page linked below. The survey will be available in Chinese, Arabic, Farsi, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Spanish, and English.

Library Opens For Limited Indoor Services
The library is now open for limited indoor services, but only at 25 percent capacity.
In-person services won’t be exactly the same as pre-COVID-19 days, however. You can’t peruse the stacks alone, nor can you use study rooms, labs or any meeting spaces.
The library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It will close daily between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. for cleaning.
Face masks are required, and you must have your temperature taken upon arrival.
Book Drop Now Open
We are pleased to announce that our exterior Book Drop is open weekdays to accept library materials. The reopening of our Book Drop is part of our phased approach to continue to provide library services safely to our communities.

WiFi now available
WiFi will be made available for use outside the building. This is an effort to help bridge the “digital divide” in communities where internet access is less readily available. Security guards will be used to enforce social distancing and discourage loitering (by those not there for WiFi or book pickup)
