San Diego Public Library is proud to announce our newest mobile IDEA Lab focused on architectural design. This Mobile IDEA Lab features a laser cutter, 3D printer, vinyl cutter and multimedia laptops. We are holding open lab hours from 12:00-2:00pm where you can print your 3D project or use the die cutter.

Based on his new book, The Joy of Names, Union-Tribune language columnist and best-selling language author Richard Lederer reveals all you need to know about first names, baby names, last names, nicknames, cruel and unusual names, movie stars’ names, presidents’ names, eponymous names, names from myths, authors’ pseudonyms, and other fascinating facts about names.

April – National Poetry Month
The official April 2020 National Poetry Month poster features the artwork of Samantha Aikman, winner of this year’s National Poetry Month Poster Contest for Students. Aikman’s design was selected by judges Alison Bechdel, renowned cartoonist, and former U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera.
It features the following line from the poem “Remember” by current U.S. Poet Laureate, Joy Harjo: “Remember all is in motion, is growing, is you.”

Oasis 307: Are you new to medicinal cannabis? There are a multitude of health benefits associated with cannabis; for example, it can be used to treat anxiety and depression, insomnia, pain relief, and more. In this workshop you’ll learn about the history of cannabis, consumption methods, effects, and dosage.
