On June 18th, 2011 the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Branch Library celebrated 50 years of serving the community in its current location. The Friends of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Branch Library sponsored a party outside the library. The band Raggle Taggle played music, and two clowns from Frazzle Dazzle ‘N’ Co. did face painting and made balloon animals. Highlights of the celebration included a book sale, a craft, a raffle, three Smurfs, a fire engine from the San Diego Fire Department, refreshments, and a free book for every child.
